Terms of Use

(1) Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Entropix (the "Service" or "App"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service is primarily an on-device photography coach. Certain optional features may also use cloud-based artificial intelligence. For those features, you may either (a) supply your own API keys and configuration ("bring your own key" or "BYOK"), subject to each feature's supported providers, or (b) use a built-in model provider that Entropix makes available in the App. Currently: Idea Inspiration / Inspire Me uses Google Gemini (built-in or Gemini BYOK); Scene Explore and Live Guidance use Alibaba Cloud DashScope / Qwen as the built-in provider, or your OpenAI-compatible BYOK endpoint. Use of any cloud AI feature is subject to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and—where applicable—the terms of the relevant model provider.

(2) Changes to Terms

Entropix may modify these Terms at any time by posting the revised Terms on the Service or this website. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice.

(3) Accounts & Local Use

  • You may use the App without creating an Entropix cloud account.
  • If the App offers account registration or Sign in with Apple and you choose to use it, you agree to provide accurate information and to keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
  • If the App offers paid subscriptions through the App Store, they renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, managed in your Apple ID / App Store subscription settings, and Apple's terms also apply. Subscriptions are not currently offered unless the App expressly presents an in-app purchase or subscription option.

(4) Permissions

  • The Service may request access to your device's camera and photo library to capture photos, save images you choose to keep, and select reference photos for coaching features.
  • The current shipping build does not require Location Services and does not use location for photo organization or location-based features.
  • You may revoke permissions in your device settings; some features may then be unavailable.

(5) Content

  • You retain ownership of photos and other content you create or submit in the App.
  • To operate the Service, you grant Entropix a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to process content on your device as needed for App features, and—when you use optional cloud AI features—to transmit necessary image or prompt data to the applicable model provider for that feature (including Google Gemini for Idea Inspiration / Inspire Me, Alibaba Cloud DashScope / Qwen for built-in Scene Explore or Live Guidance, or an OpenAI-compatible endpoint you configure for BYOK on Scene Explore or Live Guidance).
  • We do not claim a broad license to use your photos for unrelated marketing, and we do not operate a cloud gallery that permanently stores your photos on Entropix servers in the current App mode.
  • You agree not to use the Service to create or upload content that violates law or infringes others' rights.

(6) On-Device Storage

  • Photos, saved ideas, scene history, and related App data are stored locally on your device unless you export or save them elsewhere (for example to your Photo Library).
  • Entropix is not responsible for data loss on your device. You should keep your own backups of important photos.
  • If we later offer optional Entropix-hosted cloud storage, we will describe it in the App and update these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

(7) Third-Party AI & Other Services

  • Optional features may send images or prompts to cloud AI providers as follows:
    • Idea Inspiration / Inspire Me: built-in provider is Google Gemini; BYOK uses your own Gemini configuration only.
    • Scene Explore and Live Guidance / AR Guidance / Agent coaching: built-in provider is Alibaba Cloud DashScope / Qwen; BYOK may use any OpenAI-compatible base URL and API key you configure in the App.
    By using those features, you consent to that transmission for the purpose of returning the requested results.
  • Third-party model providers (including Google and Alibaba Cloud, and any operator of a BYOK endpoint you choose) are independent of Entropix. Their terms, privacy practices, availability, pricing, and output quality are outside our control. Where you use BYOK, you are responsible for complying with the provider's terms and for securing your API keys. Where you use a built-in model provider, that provider's terms and privacy documentation also apply, including Google's Privacy Policy / Gemini API Additional Terms for Gemini, and Alibaba Cloud's Privacy Policy / Model Studio privacy notice for DashScope / Qwen, in addition to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
  • Advertising is not offered in the App. The App does not display third-party ads or share personal information with advertising partners for ad targeting. If we introduce advertising later, we will update these Terms and the Privacy Policy before doing so, and we will not sell your personal information.

(8) In-App Purchases

  • If the Service offers subscriptions or other in-app purchases, they are billed through Apple's App Store and subject to Apple's terms.
  • Refund requests must be directed to Apple; Entropix does not process card payments directly.

(9) Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of applicable law.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or related networks.
  • Attempt unauthorized access to the Service, other users' devices, or accounts.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App except where permitted by mandatory law.
  • Misuse third-party AI features in ways that violate the provider's acceptable-use rules or others' rights.

(10) Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

(11) Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. AI suggestions are informational only and may be inaccurate; you remain responsible for how you use them.

(12) Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Entropix shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from (a) your use or inability to use the Service; (b) third-party AI providers, networks, or devices; (c) unauthorized access to your device or keys; (d) bugs, viruses, or similar; or (e) any content or suggestions obtained through the Service.

(13) Governing Law

These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
